Welcome to my children's book website. 

I am Claudia Koch ("Cook") Godinez ("Go-dee-nez").  I write stories and create illustrations for children's books. 

I am a wife, a mom of three (teen and young adult) kids.. I like to get outside and explore nature, practice yoga, garden, travel, make more art and spend time with family and friends, and our sweet dog.

As a kid, I loved exploring the outdoors, reading, writing, interacting with animals, palling around with my neighborhood friends & family members and exploring  different art forms.  

As a parent, a former elementary school teacher, artist, and book creator,  I love  sharing these same childhood wonders with children! My hope is my children's books inspire curiosity, compassion, and a sense of wonder for the environment and others- furry, feathered, finned, scaled and  human, too! 

I look forward to building relationships with children, parents, agents,  professional publishing teams,  teachers, librarians, book sellers, and fellow book creators.
